Just needed a little reminder that God's in control...

On Wednesday,  we got some news.  It seems like my life is being turned upside down.
It feels chaotic.  I needed a little reminder that God's in control.
Since I can't see the big picture in life.

So we went to Bellows Beach.

Isn't it beautiful??????
I am reminded that God is in control.  I'm going to miss this beach when we leave Hawaii.  It is my favorite beach in the world.  :)  Well my corner of the world.

Frustrated...

I am so frustrated right now.
I really thought this year would be better.
I'm tired of whining about this too.
I really need just one good thing to happen right now.
Seriously, one thing...would be awesome.
I just keep thinking about Jeremiah 29:11-14.
God has a plan for me and my family.  This IS comforting.  I just need some good news.

Trying out some new fonts...

I'm trying out some new fonts on blogger.

I am frustrated with them right now.

Or maybe it's my fault, because I am not a techie.

Just call me a slacker...that's my real middle name!

Ok, I just realized that I didn't do my weekly positive post.

So give me a minute to think back over the week and I'm sure I can come up with something!

Keith brought home beautiful flowers for me!

We got out of Pearl Harbor and rode to Kaneohe!  It was beautiful!

The girls are feeling good and doing well in school.

I lost a couple of lbs.  I started a new book "Made to Crave" by Lysa Terkeurst.  It's pretty much common sense...but I've had a lot of "AHA moments"!

Keith's Mom is doing another round of Chemo and she seems to be feeling good.  She had a few moments, but praise God she's doing good!

I think that's about all.  For this week anyway.  :)

Only In Hawaii

Apparently there were thousands of Kauai residents who received this text from the Kauai Civil Defense, "The Sky is Falling."

Only in Hawaii...

Don't believe me?

I love my husband!!!

I'm not the perfect wife, but he still loves me.  I am so thankful for the husband that God gave me.  I couldn't imagine my life without him.  I hope I never have to.   He truly is my best friend.

I had a really bad headache today.  I'm sure on the pain scale, it was only a 2, but to me it felt worse than that.   I needed some caffeine.  When Keith came home for lunch today, I asked him to bring me one back when he came home this afternoon.  He left to go back to work, and 10 mins. later he surprised me with a Coke Zero, before he went back to work.   This really made my day better.  He is always doing little things for me.  I really appreciate what he does for me.  He even cooked dinner tonight.  (He cooked dinner last night too.)

I think this is my 2nd positive post for this week.  I realize that everyday I have something to be thankful for.  I'm so thankful that even when we are going through tough times, God is still in control.  That promise is really a calm in the chaos.

My Goals for 2011

Well my first goal will be to actually blog.  I want to post at least 1 blog per week.  No matter what kind of week we are having.

Even though this year has started out worse than last year, I will find something positive to blog about.

I have the standard goals too.  You know, read my Bible more, pray more, be a better wife and mom.  Lose weight.  Eat healthy.   All those things that I have failed to do so far.  Well except maybe for the praying more...and reading my Bible more.  If I continue to do that, I'm sure the rest of my goals will be successful.

Positive thing for Today/this week?  Auburn won the BCS National Championship Game.  Yep.  The SEC won again for the 5th year.  Now I could go into some really negative thinking here, but I am choosing to stay positive.  Although it wasn't my favorite team, it is still the SEC who won.
And that is my positive thought for the day.  Hopefully they will get better... I really need some positive things to happen...
